The Museu Carmen Thyssen Andorra opens its doors to the students of the Art School of the Comú of Andorra la Vella

On Wednesday 23 February, the Museu Carmen Thyssen Andorra and the Art School of the Comú of Andorra la Vella will begin an unprecedented collaboration!

Also known as “easel guardians”, it is not uncommon to find copyists in the rooms of museums, facing the works of the great masters. Famous figures in the history of art, such as Matisse, were part of these groups who, beyond simple admiration, were able to perfect their techniques.

In fact, the MCTA will welcome students from the Art School of the Comú of Andorra la Vella so that they can reproduce, directly in the exhibition room, one of the works that make up the exhibition. Made in Paris. The generation of Matisse, Lagar and Foujita.

This activity is the result of the rewarding experience of previous projects such as Re-interpretant Tappert. As well as the last group exhibition in the vestibule of the museum, Paisatge en risc, which brought together a total of forty pieces from different disciplines. All of these works were inspired by the bucolic landscapes of the Catalan artists of the late 19th century and the way we look at them today.

Visitors will be able to observe the students’ creative process every Wednesday at 10.30 h am and 12.30 h pm.
