Guided tour: “Accumulation of Cans”, Arman

This week, the Museu Carmen Thyssen Andorra, offers you a new guided tour of a special work part of the exhibition: “INFLUENCERS in art. From Van Goyen to Pop Art“, which you can discover from the comfort of your own home.

Today, the Museu Carmen Thyssen Andorra invites you to discover an artwork from the Carmen Thyssen Bornemisza collection “Accumulation of Cans” c. 1990, by the internationally renowned artist, Arman.

As a great representative of the new realism movement that appeared in 1960, his works question the status of the object and their relationship with modern societies. Arman directly appropriates reality through urban and industrial poetic recycling. His work, close to criticism, also illustrates the new consumer society, using the supports of repeated production, the continuous cycle of the human hand, he transforms his production into a true sociological aesthetic.

This work, which unquestionably brings us closer to the pop style, is composed of Cherry Coke cans, released in a limited edition in Germany, suspended in a block of epoxy resin and belonging to Arman’s famous series of accumulations.

Therefore, we let you enjoy this singular work by an artist who, thanks to his originality and the depth of his ideals, is nowadays a reference in contemporary art and is exhibited in the world’s greatest museums.

Enjoy your visit!
