Changing an exhibition is not as easy as you might think. Indeed, in order to guarantee the conservation and security of the works of art, the teams must follow a whole series of protocols.
Once the museum is closed, the first step is to dismantle it. InteArt, the art transport specialists, arrive at the museum with the custom-made boxes and proceed with the removal of the pieces. However, before they are packed, the paintings pass under the expert eye of the General Curator of the Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection, Guillermo Cervera, who, with the help of a card, determines the condition of the paintings and frames that have just spent a year in the exhibition room.
A reference label is then affixed to the back of each of the works, which will make it possible to certify their participation in the Talented Painters of the Same Origin. From Rigalt to Puigdengolas at the Museu Carmen Thyssen Andorra.
Finally, the moment arrives when each of the paintings is carefully packed and placed in its respective box, safe from any external danger. In order not to subject them to too sudden a change of temperature, they are left to rest for several hours and then, finally, we say goodbye.
