Femina Feminae “On the Rocks”

The Carmen Thyssen Andorra’s Museum and Grandvalira opened on Thursday 7th, March, the second edition of the Grandvalira Igloo.

An exhibition of sculptures cut directly on ice, that recreates master works from the current exhibition “Femina Feminae, the muses and the collector. From Piazetta to Delaunay “; In this ephemeral proposal, the artists have reproduced paintings such as “Portuguese woman” by Robert Delaunay, “Female bust” by Wilfredo Lam or “Aniela 9” by Julian Opie.

The reinterpretation of these works has led to the temporary exhibition “FEMINA FEMINAE ON THE ROCKS”, which can be visited during the ski season for free.

In the hands of the artist Álex Fernández, the muses are resized in a new plasticity. The six recreated works based on cuts and reliefs on ice and snow, are part of an artistic journey where the igloo becomes a unique museum.
