Calendar of activities: March 2022

From the Museu Carmen Thyssen Andorra, we are pleased to share with you the calendar of family activities for March.

Programme:

  • Carnival at the Thyssen

Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 March

To celebrate Carnival, participants will have to create a disguise with recycled material, such as fabric, and hang it on the characters in the exhibition. The theme of this original workshop will be Paris and its emblematic elements.

  • Window landscape for International Women’s Day

Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 March

We celebrate International Women’s Day with a workshop dedicated to the artist Frances Hodgkins, the first teacher who taught at the Colarossi Academy, one of the schools in the new exhibition. During this session we will project works by the painter and give us a model to create landscapes through the window, one of the artist’s favourite themes.

  • Artistic Puzzle

Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 March

This weekend, it will be the turn of the Artistic Puzzle, an ingenious activity that aims to awaken interest in creation and art at all ages. The workshop will start with the construction of the puzzle based on the works of artists who were influenced by the Parisian avant-garde. Finally, participants will have to create a new painting using one of the pieces.

  • Impressionist Virtuosi Conference

Thursday 24 March, 7 pm

On Thursday 24 March we start the lecture series for this new exhibition, Made in Paris. The generation of Matisse, Lagar and Foujita, with Impressionist Virtuosi, led by Andorran musicologist Josep Martínez Reinoso, who will present the musical discourse present in the exhibition’s audio guides. The presentation will focus on a selection of musical pieces by Impressionist composers, which were performed by three French pianists, pioneers in the mid-20th century recording industry: Henriette Faure, Germaine Thyssens-Valentin and Magda Tagliaferro.
